The Bedford Community Church Men’s Ministry began
in October 2000. Since that time the Men’s Ministry has pursued its
mission to move men toward Christlikeness through fellowship, service, worship,
mentoring, prayer, study, and discussion. Utilizing monthly meetings,
special events, and an annual retreat we experience and grow in our walk with
God.
Monthly Fellowship Meeting
2ndMonday of each month
6:30-8:30 p.m.
Fellowship:We begin each monthly meeting with
laughter and a great meal. Realizing that many men come straight from
work, we aim to fill both their hearts and appetites! Join us for dinners
that vary from roast turkey to pizza.
Service:The Men’s Ministry gatherings offer
willing men an opportunity to serve in a variety of ways, according to their
particular talents. Service activities include helping with cooking,
cleanup, worship, music, prayer, or teaching.
Prayer:The Prayer Ministry has grown into an
awe-inspiring testimony to men moving toward Christlikeness. Watching 20
to 30 men praying, committing to, and encouraging one another is a true blessing
from God.
Worship:The worship aspect of our meetings is
a developingtradition. Come join us as we make a joyful noise unto
the Lord.
Study & Discussion:Meetings end with teaching on a
relevant Bible-based topic followed by small group discussion. Recent talks
include: individual testimonies, Christians in the workplace, confession,
outreach to other men, mentorship, and a study on the Holy Spirit.
Special Events:As a break in the routine,
occasionally we arrange “special events.” We have semi-annual “Dads ‘n Kids”
events such as attending baseball games and sledding. We even stepped way out
and sang a love song on Mother’s Day. Stay tuned for more special events!
Retreat:
In November we experience our annual “Band of Brothers” Retreat. Experience is
an understatement for two and a half days of intense study, inspiring worship,
and enriching fellowship. Enrollment is open to all men and scholarships are
available.
Please join us and experience a glimpse of the Acts 2 Church…
“They devoted themselves to the apostles’
teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.
Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by
the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in
common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had
need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts.
They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts,
praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added
to their number daily those who were being saved.”
