Ministries

At Bedford Community Church, “community” is our middle name. That means, it is our collective desire and the purpose we are convinced God wants for us, to serve both the church community and the outside community. To cultivate this concept, we’ve crafted a variety of ministries, designed to appeal to as many different people from as many different walks as possible–and we’re constantly seeking new opportunities to invite people into active participation in the Kingdom of God.

Children’s Ministry
Bedford Community Church has adopted a variety of teaching programs based upon the premise that children learn differently. Our Children’s Ministry team is committed to each child, ensuring that he or she learns that God is real, up-close, and personal, everyone matters to God and is a special and unique creation and everyone has a special purpose in God’s plan. Our values are to provide biblically based programs, community, spiritual growth, cultural relevance and a fun and safe environment.

Children’s Ministry (Grade School)
Bedford Community Church is bringing God’s love to youngsters, from newborns through Grade 6, offering dynamicm Christ-centered programs. The nursery takes care of newborn through age three at 9:00 and 10:45 a.m. It is a safe and nurturing place for your baby or toddler while you participate in our weekly worship service.

Children’s Sunday School (preschool through Grade 6) during the 9:00 service provides younger children an opportunity to learn and participate in worship. Children meet in designated classrooms before they participate in a large group setting where an “age-relevant” worship service will include components of music, prayer, teaching, and drama. They then return to their classrooms for time with friends of their same age for a Bible lesson and activities. Please take your children to the second floor before the church service begins.

Connect 34 and Club 56
Connect 34 and Club 56 serves Grades 3 and 4, and Grades 5 and 6 during the 9:00 a.m. service. Lessons are geared toward helping teach participants how to apply Scriptural concepts to daily life and how to pray. We follow Christ’s example of disciple-making in a fun and relevant way

“The Warehouse” Student Ministry
Student ministry is extremely important to the development of a healthy church. Our robust, active youth group meets every week on Sunday evenings from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church for an evening of worship, games and fellowship. There are also special events (e.g., the world-famous Buffalo Wings and Bowling, concerts, parties, ski trips) as well as local outreach opportunities. Grades 7-12 are welcome to attend.

For more information about this exciting, growing collection of Godly teens please contact Student Ministries Coordinator Craig Dukelow.

Missions
The missions team is intent on spreading the love of Jesus Christ through action (and adventure!). Outreach opportunities range from serving our local community (disaster relief, volunteerism at the food pantry) to bold, international endeavors like regular trips to Bolivia to serve the country’s orphan population.

No matter where you feel best suited to serve, Southern New Hampshire or South American, the missions coordinators are strident in their belief that missions work will completely change your perspective and allow you the chance to make a tactile, real impact for the Kingdom.

Men’s Ministry
The Bedford Community Church Men’s Ministry began in October 2000. Since that time the Men’s Ministry has pursued its mission to move men toward Christlikeness through fellowship, service, worship, mentoring, prayer, study, and discussion. Utilizing monthly meetings, special events, and an annual retreat we experience and grow in our walk with God.

Monthly Fellowship Meeting happen on the second Monday of each month from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Meetings end with teaching on a relevant Bible-based topic followed by small group discussion. Recent talks have included: individual testimonies, Christians in the workplace, confession, outreach to other men, mentorship, and a study on the Holy Spirit.

In November we experience our annual “Band of Brothers” retreat, for two and a half days of intense study, inspiring worship, and enriching fellowship. Enrollment is open to all men and scholarships are available. And sometimes there’s gunplay!

Women’s Ministry
At Bedford Community Church, Women’s Ministry has defined its purpose in three simple words: Know, Grow, Go!  More fully, the point of Women’s Ministry is to help women “know the love of Christ” (Ephesians 3:19), “grow in grace” (2 Peter 3:18) and “go tell what God has done” (Luke 8:39).

Committed to this calling, Women’s Ministry offers a variety of Bible and topical studies, as well as evening and Saturday events and retreats. We hope to see you at any of these forums, where we know you’ll be inspired to Know, Grow and Go!

Worship Arts
Worship isn’t just the music part of our service. “Worship” is anything that we do to bring pleasure to God. We worship God privately, in fellowship through small groups, and corporately in our weekly service. During our weekly service we take pleasure in using the elements of music, drama and other forms of the arts to worship God. By using their talents and gifts, the worship arts team provides music, provokes thought, offers prayer, and gives us encouragement and direction in glorifying God. Together in all these efforts, we worship God.

The environment of BCC is highly artistic, which means we want to encourage all the arts as a gift from God He has given for His and our pleasure. We have also found using the many forms of the art to be very effective in communicating the truths found in the scriptures. We use a lot of multimedia, drama, set designs, and props.

For questions about our drama, music or technology aspects of worship arts, please contact worshiparts@bedfordcc.org.

Community Groups
The mission of Bedford Community Church is Helping people move toward Christlikeness. Our corporate worship service is very important to our spiritual health, but true discipleship and growth is more likely to flourish in a community group. Ideally, the small group will be 6-12 people. Typically, the group meets weekly for study, prayer, and fellowship. Special social events and outreach ministries are encouraged.

When Jesus chose his disciples, you could say that he formed the first small group. Twelve men with a desire and commitment to grow lived, ate, prayed, and learned together. The rest is history and our heritage as Christians. Presently we have 18 Small Groups with about 175 adults.

To find a community group that fits what you’re seeking, contact the church office at 641-0124.

Prayer Ministry
BCC’s Prayer Ministry has just one aim – to encourage prayer! This all-important facet of the Christian life is the first thing jettisoned when the schedule gets too full. But Paul’s admonition in 1 Thessalonians 5:17, to “Pray all the time” can be carried out – follow the Prayer Ministry webpage updates for hints on how. With a target as crucial as prayer, aim is everything!  Email Phyllis Gagnon for prayer requests on information on how you can get involved!
